Motivational Interviewing for Adolescents (MI-A)
Motivational Interviewing for Adolescents (MI-A) “…is a collaborative conversation style for strengthening a person's own motivation and commitment to change” (Miller and Rollnick, 2013). The model trains Children’s Mental Health clinicians and supervisors in the core skills and in using four processes to facilitate change in the adolescent and/or their caregivers: Engaging, Focusing, Evoking, and Planning. The MI-A Learning Collaboratives (training, coaching) are available to the public mental health system (Community Mental Health Services Programs and their provider network).
